Apply for funding from SNES

Call for applications

The Network board annually sets aside funds for research visits to research institutions outside Sweden. To be eligible for funding, the period of the research visit should be one month or longer. Allowances are primarily granted for covering travel and accommodation costs in connection with the visit. Funding for per diem, overheads, public and local transport is not eligible.

Priority is given to doctoral candidates and to researchers that have recently defended their thesis. The board has decided that scholars from the member institutions are to be given priority, but that non-members can be granted funding if there are special reasons for this, for example active participation in SNES-financed activities. If resources permit, the Network can also dispense funds for other activities, such as seminars and workshops on themes consonant with Network objectives. The network does not fund courses, conferences, or field studies.

There are two application deadlines each year: 15 February and 15 September.

Applications and supporting materials, which should include a budget, a letter of invitation from the University for the planned visit, a description of the project's and visit's connection to European studies, and in the case of doctoral candidates a reference letter from the thesis advisor, should be sent to the Network board by email: snes@statsvet.uu.se

or, by regular mail:
