About the network
The Swedish Network for European Studies in Political Science (SNES) works to promote Swedish research in political science with a focus on European issues and politics, to promote exchanges between researchers and doctoral students active in the subject area and to disseminate our research results to a wider public.
SNES Spring Conference 2025
The Swedish Network for European Studies' (SNES) spring conference will be held at Dalarna University's Campus Borlänge, 27-28 March 2025. The application deadline is 8 January 2025.
Apply for funding from SNES - deadline 15 February/15 September
The Network board has set aside funds for research visits to other research institutions, outside Sweden. The period of the research visit should be one month or longer. Allowances are for covering travel costs in connection with the visit, as well as board and lodging. Priority goes to doctoral candidates and to recently minted PhD’s.
Members of the network
SNES consists of thirteen member institutions at Uppsala University, Malmö University, Lund University, Linnaeus University, Karlstad University, Umeå University, Linköping University, Dalarna University, Stockholm University, University of Gothenburg, Mid Sweden University, Södertörn University and Örebro University.
The SNES board
The board of SNES consists of a representative from each member institution, doctoral student representatives, representatives of junior researchers, and a chairperson.
Europaperspektiv
SNES contributes annually with a number of chapters to a book on European research, Europaperspektiv. The book is launched each year with a seminar.
